Office
The communication hub of EXLTUBE, our operations departments moved to our new office building including sales, purchasing, and planning. The manufacturing process also starts within these walls as orders for specific coils are placed based on the rolling schedule, size, and grade of our end products.
Information Technology
Interlocking all our departments and teams is an IT infrastructure that capitalizes on the latest technologies. SAP, Gains, Hybris, SharePoint, QlikView, and many other platforms are managed in-house to give our team the tools they need to excel in their positions.
Coil Yard
Every coil that arrives at our yard is already earmarked for a specific product. Our strong relationships with our steel producers extend beyond the standard of ensuring traceability throughout the entire product life cycle. They are true partners in helping us develop customer solutions.
Slitter
The first step in production is meticulously staging the coils to begin a slitting run to ensure proper width for finished products. Widths can range from 1.315" to 7.625". This attention to detail ensures a proper weld seam and reduces scrap, resulting in cost savings that are passed along to our customers.
Abbey Line
The first of our two production lines, the Abbey can accommodate products as small as 1.315" OD (one inch standard) up to a maximum of 4.375" OD with a maximum length of 42 feet. The Abbey also handles ID flash removal for 1.5" - 2.5" NPS and corresponding tube sizes when required for tube products used in telescoping and other special applications.
McKay Line
The McKay is our second production line, handling larger products ranging from 2.5" OD up to a maximum of 7.625" OD with a maximum length of 50 feet. The McKay also handles ID Flash removal for 2.5" - 7" NPS pipe sizes and corresponding tube sizes when required for tube products used in telescoping and other special applications.
Material Handling
After production, robots expertly prepare finished goods for bundling along with tagging for traceability. This automation provides more consistent bundles that are arranged in the correct shipping configuration. It also supports our mission of a safe working environment by creating a less manual process for moving and storing products.
Hydrotester
Transitioning tube to pipe starts with a single piece of tube entering our automated beveling system before being tested to A53 Grade B specifications or beyond, based on customer needs. Once each piece passes the integrity tests within the hydrotester, which has a 10,000 PSI testing capability, it enters the coating booth. A rust prohibitive coating is applied that is environmentally friendly, water-based, and low-fume for welding before the piece is sent through a cooling section prior to handling.
Logistics
Maximum flexibility is the key to logistics at EXLTUBE. Our tube and pipe products leave our shipping bays via tarped truckloads (45,000 lb. miniumum) of straight or mixed loads. We also have options for intermodal and accept will-call for those customers wanting to arrange their own transportation.
Rail Logistics
Our rail capabilities (180,000 lb. minimum for flat car) are a competitive option for larger loads or those traveling greater distance. We also have options for intermodal and accept will-call for those customers wanting to arrange their own transportation.
